Biofunctionalization of Silicon Substrate Surfaces
Chengzhi Cai
Associate Professor, Departmemt of Chemistry, University of Houston
Room: 102, University of Houston Science Center
12:00 PM - 01:00 PM
Summary/Abstract
This talk summarizes our progress on the development of the chemistry for surface modifcation of silicon-based substrates, including single crystal silicon and silicon carbide. We demonstrate a versatile monolayer platform on silicon substrates that strongly resist the non-specifc interactions with proteins and allow functionalization with a wide variety of biomolecules for specifc binding of target molecules.
